LEG Muscle Cramps

A sustained muscle spasm is called a muscle cramp or charley horse. It is a painful involuntary contraction of one or more muscles, and it lasts for a little longer time before relaxing. It often occurs in the legs. Nighttime leg cramps are usually sudden tightening or spasms of muscles in the calf.

 

Some of the reasons for cramps are dehydration, over exercising, depleted levels of potassium, magnesium, or calcium.
